Can I get a refund if my dress doesn't sell?

Due to the cost and time we invest in promoting your dress to potential buyers, and the low margins we work to, we are unable to offer refunds.  However, we will do all we can to help you sell your dress.

Can you arrange for my dress to be dry cleaned for me?

Yes, this is a service that we offer.  Our professional dry cleaning service cost depends on the style of your dress.   Please get in touch to arrange a time to bring your dress in.

Can you take photos of my dress for me?

If you are selling your dress online only, you are responsible for taking and providing photos of your wedding dress.  If your dress is approved for sale instore, we can discuss your options at that point.

Can you write the description of my dress for me?

As the owner of the dress, you are the best person to write the description – a potential buyer wants honesty, not a sales pitch.  However, if you're really struggling, get in touch.  We'll always try to help.

Do I have to pay a commision or ongoing fees?

No, if you opt for the sell online only option, after your initial listing fee, there are no ongoing fees. Should you wish to bring your dress into our store for us to sell on your behalf then a commission of 30% of the sale price will be deducted from the money from the sale.

Do you accept vintage wedding dresses?

We are very interested in authentic vintage dresses in excellent condition. Please get in touch to discuss.

How do I close my account?

If you would like to close your account, please remove any active listings then contact us requesting account closure.

How do I know you won't sell my dress and keep the money?

Before accepting your dress to sell in our boutique, we both sign a legal contract, which ensures that you will get your money within 14 days of your dress selling. Our business relies on word of mouth recommendations – therefore honesty and integrity are absolutely central to the way we work.

How do I list my wedding dress?

Listing your wedding dress for sale is simple and effortless, and takes less than 5 minutes. Please visit our Sell Your Dress page.

How long will it take to sell my dress?

There are many factors which affect the sale of your dress, including the size, style, price, your location, and whether you choose to just list it online, or decide to sell it in our boutique. If your dress does not sell as quickly as you would like we may suggest that you review the asking price and update the information and images. Remember...use the best pictures possible as it helps to get the most views.

How will buyers contact me if I'm just selling my dress online?

Buyers will contact you using the details which appear on your listing, either by phone or email. Make sure your profile is up to date.

Is my dress insured against fire, flood and theft?

Yes.  For a small insurance fee of just £10, you can have total peace of mind.

My dress has a broken zip/missing buttons. Can you repair it before I sell it?

No.  Any repairs are the responsibility of the dress owner.  We recommend that you get any repairs done by a professional bridal seamstress before you list your wedding dress for sale.  We don't get involved in repair work.

My dress has been stored in a box in the top of the wardrobe for the past ten years. Is it too old to sell?

Generally, we would say that it possibly could be.  However, it very much depends on the style, condition, material, designer, etc.  The pre-loved dresses that we sell in our boutique are usually no more than 6 years old.

Should I dry clean my dress?

Dry cleaning your dress will help preserve it and make it look as stunning as it did the first time around. We strongly suggest dry cleaning your dress before listing it as any customers wanting to view it may be put off by marks they see. If you are bringing your dress into our boutique then dry cleaning is essential. Please check out our fantastic hassle free dry cleaning service.

What do I need to do to sell my dress in your boutique?

You first need to register online and pay our £18.95 listing fee.  Once we receive your request to sell your pre-loved wedding dress for you in our boutique, we will invite you to bring your dress in so that we can assess it's condition.  If it has marks on it, we request that you get your dress professionally dry cleaned before we can approve it for sale in our boutique.  We can do this for you, at a cost of £60. However, please note that if after dry cleaning your dress the marks remain and your dress is assessed as not being suitable to sell in our boutique, we will regrettably have to request that you pick up your dress and instead sell it privately.  In this circumstance, we would refund your £18.95 listing fee, and allow you to sell your dress online for free until sold.

What happens if my dress doesn't sell?

If your dress has been listed for a considerable length of time, we can look at ways in which we can help you. We will always do our best to help you sell your dress.

What if I have a complaint? Who should I talk to?

All of our staff are able to deal with any complaints or questions you may have.  Please get in touch.

What if someone buys my dress, pays for it, then changes their mind?

If a buyer later changes her mind about a dress she has bought, we are unable to offer a refund.  In this respect we are no different to any regular bridal boutique.  However, if the dress is still in perfect condition, we will offer to sell the dress on her behalf, to enable her to buy a different dress.  You will still receive your money from the original purchase.

What if someone damages my dress while they're trying it on?

If you're selling your dress privately online, we recommend that you help viewers into and out of the dress, ask them to avoid wearing heavy makeup and cosmetics, fake tan and dark nail varnish, etc.  Please read through our tips on the How It Works page.

When your dress is for sale in our boutique, we take utmost care to protect it.  Viewers are given gloves to wear, attended to at all times, and are asked to adhere to specific appointment requirements.  Anyone who we feel isn't showing the dresses the care and respect necessary, will be asked to leave.  However, until the dress is sold, ultimate responsibility for the dress remains with its current owner.

What is my wedding dress worth?

The price you decide to sell your wedding dress for is entirely your decision. We would recommend aiming for around 50% of the RRP, but please take into consideration the condition and age. Please read more on our How It Works page.

What items can I sell on your site?

Your wedding dress. We accept wedding dresses of all styles, sizes and colours, whether it's new or been worn once. If you loved it, then we know someone else will too. We do not accept other wedding items for sale online, such as bridesmaid dresses, accessories or formal wear. However, if you wish to sell any of the following items: veils, jewellery, accessories, hats, designer Mother of the Bride outfits, etc, please get in touch.

What payment methods are accepted?

To sell online, all major credit and debit cards are accepted. We accept payment via PayPal, including all payments made by credit card or debit card. If you do not have a PayPal account, you are still able to pay for your purchase with a credit or debit card using PayPal's guest checkout service. If you do have a PayPal account, it's even easier. Simply sign in to your PayPal account on the payment page to use your existing balance. Using PayPal means we never get access to your private credit card information.

What's the minimum original retail value of a dress that you will accept?

Our decision will always be based on the condition of the dress, rather than original cost.

When does a listing expire?

Your listing will never expire. If your item has sold, please take 5 minutes to remove it, to prevent further enquiries.

When will my listing appear on the website?

Listings appear immediately after payment has been made, 24 hours a day.

Why should I sell my dress through you, rather than put it on ebay?

Many of our brides tried ebay before coming to us.  We are upmarket, more appealing to brides (they can say they bought their dress through an online boutique, rather than ebay), we offer you more support, and are highly knowledgable.  We can help you gain the best price for your wedding dress, and we genuinely want to see your beautiful pre-loved gown rehomed with the right person.

Buyer FAQs
Love Me Again Boutique Header

Can you put me in touch with other wedding suppliers (florists, venues, etc)?

Yes.  We have a large directory of contacts, which we can discuss with you when you come in for your appointment.

Can you store my dress for me until nearer my wedding day?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer storage facilities.  Once you have bought your wedding dress, you are required to take it with you.  Once purchased, your new dress becomes your responsibility.

Can you tell me how old the dress is that I'm buying?

The age of a dress isn't something we usually focus on, as the condition is the most important consideration.  However, if you would like to know (for example, if it is a vintage dress you are buying), please get in touch with the seller if buying it online, or ask us if you're buying your dress from our boutique.

Do you sell bridal accessories?

In our boutique, we offer a select range of pre-loved veils, shawls, etc, depending on what has come in recently.  Please be aware that these are fast moving items, and so we cannot guarantee what will be available when you come in for your appointment.

How many dresses can I try on in your boutique?

Appointments last 90 minutes, which usually allows for between 7-10 dresses to be tried on.  However, if you run out of time before you find your dream dress, we would be delighted to book you another appointment to come back and try on some more.  And if you find your dream dress after 10 minutes – you can leave early!

I don't want people to know I've bought a pre-loved wedding dress. Will my guests be able to tell?

Absolutely not.  You are free to examine the quality and condition of your dress before you buy it.  Every dress sold in our boutique is checked rigorously – our brides have very high standards, and so do we.  Many of our brides are very proud to wear a pre-loved wedding dress on their wedding day, knowing that they have potentially saved themselves thousands of pounds.

I have a really small budget. Will you have anything for me?

Yes.  We always aim to stock dresses to suit all bidgets.  Please take a look at the dresses online before booking your appointment.

I'm getting married in three weeks and still don't have a dress! Can you help?

Yes.  Get in touch to book an appointment.  The beauty of our service is that you can try on, pay for and take away YOUR dress, all on the same dress.  No waiting.

I'm not getting married for another 18 months. Can you reserve my dress for me so no-one else can buy it?

We can take a small non-refundable deposit to reserve a dress for up to 2 weeks.  We cannot hold a dress for more than 2 weeks, as this is unfair on the person selling the dress.

I've gained/lost weight since buying my dress from you. Can I swap it for a larger/smaller dress?

No.  All sales are final.  However, if you wish to sell your dress, and it is in an acceptable condition, we would be happy to offer your wedding dress for sale in our boutique, to allow you to purchase another dress.

Isn't it bad luck to wear a dress that has been worn by another bride previously?

Not at all.  It is such a shame to think of all those dresses hidden away at the back of the wardrobe or, heaven forbid, in the loft, destined never to be worn again.  At the end of the day, it will always come down to what you feel comfortable with.  All our dresses are professionally dry cleaned before they are hung on our rails for you to buy, and as most brides wear their wedding dress for a total of less than 12 hours, they are as new, and feel as though they have never been worn at all.

Once I've worn my pre-loved dress to my own wedding, can I sell it through your boutique?

Yes, of course.  We are always delighted to see our brides again, and depending on condition, would love to sell your dress for you.

The wedding dress doesn't quite fit. Do you do alterations?

No.  But we we do have professional bridal seamstresses that we can put you in touch with.  We are happy to recommend, however, we cannot accept any responsibility for the quality of work.  Always seek testimonials off other brides.

What if I can't make my appointment?

If you can't make your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we are not worried where you are, and can book in another bride to be to take your slot.

What if I change my mind after buying the dress. Can I bring it back for a refund?

Unfortunately, just like regular wedding dress shops, all our sales are final, and no refunds can be given.  However, we are in a unique position of being able to assist you to sell an unwanted dress, to enable you to buy another.

What if I have a bad experience buying a dress privately?

If buyers and sellers follow our guidelines as set out on our How It Works page, the transaction should go smoothly.  However, we understand that sometimes things do go wrong.  In this circumstance, contact us to notify us about what has happened.  We will then investigate thoroughly, and see if we can work out a resolution.  Please remember that a seller has the right not to sell their dress, and a buyer has the right not to buy a dress.

Why are all these brides selling their wedding dresses?

Brides sell their wedding dresses for various reasons.  Many wish to pay off wedding or honeymoon expenses.  Others hate the thought of such a beautiful dress being hidden away in a wardrobe, and want someone else to enjoy wearing it as much as they did.  Or they simply don't have the space to store it.  There are as many reasons for selling a pre-loved wedding dress as there are for buying one.

Why should I buy a dress through you, rather than ebay?

We offer the personal service that ebay lacks.  Our boutique is beautiful, and we give you movie star treatment whilst you're with us, as the room is closed off to the public to allow you to try dresses on in total privacy.  And perhaps most importantly, because we inspect each and every dress carefully before agreeing to hang it in our boutique, the quality of the dress you buy will be much higher than the quality you will find on ebay.

Will my dress come in a dress bag?

Yes.  All dresses are sold with a full length wedding dress dust bag.

Your website isn't showing any dresses by the designer I'm looking for. Can you find me my dream dress?

Yes.  Please get in touch and let us know what you're looking for, and we will start searching.
